Soon, the Seven Hills of Tirumala will be more scenic and eco-friendly, thanks to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board’s decision to increase the green cover on the Hills.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Board has decided to increase the green cover on the Tirumala hills from the existing 68.14 per cent to 80 per cent through the Forest Department, J Shyamala Rao, Executive Officer, TTD said after the board meeting held in Tirupati on Tuesday.

The Board will release ₹4 crore for the State Forest Department in a phased manner, beginning with ₹1.74 crore in the current financial year.

The Board has also decided to invite financial and technical proposals from architecture consultants to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the development of temples at Tiruchanoor, Amaravati, Narayananavanam, Kapilatheertham, Nagalavanam and Vontimetta.

In view of the increase in the number of devotees visiting Akashaganaga and Papvinasanam, a plan would be formulated to further enhance the spritual, environmental and infrastructural facilities, the ED said.
