Following the escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Women`s Asia Cup 2025, according to reports.
It is also learnt that the decision has already been conveyed to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), according to a report by The Indian Express.
The upcoming Women`s Asia Cup 2025 is all set to be hosted in Sri Lanka next month.
The Indian Women`s team recently won the ODI Women`s Tri-series. Facing Sri Lanka Women in the final of the marquee event, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India won by 97 runs.

Premier batswoman Smriti Mandhana played a knock of 116 runs in 101 balls. Her knock was laced with 15 boundaries and two maximums. Later, while defending a target of 343 runs, Sneh Rana claimed four wickets in her spell of 9.2 overs.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is also heading the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
With this, the question of hosting the Men`s Asia Cup also hangs in doubt. India was set to host the Men`s Asia Cup 2025 in September.
Further, sources stated that the BCCI is aware of the fact that the Asia Cup without the likes of Team India is difficult to conduct, as most of the sponsors for international cricket tournaments are from India.
Additionally, a global cricket event without an India-Pakistan clash would be of no interest to the broadcasters.
Earlier, in 2023, with Pakistan hosting the Asia Cup, the BCCI made sure that Team India played all its matches in Sri Lanka. Later, Team India clinched the title by defeating Sri Lanka in Colombo.
During the Champions Trophy 2025, which was hosted by Pakistan, the `Men in Blue` played all of their matches in Dubai, following a hybrid model. The Rohit Sharma-led India yet again came victorious in the title clash.
