When you tap on a specific day in the app, you’d enter what is called the “Schedule view.” This will show you a list of the upcoming events starting with the day that you tapped. This is how things have been, and everyone got used to it.
But, one change is making people hate Google Calendar
Recently, the company delivered an update to the app (version 2025.09.1-732918122) that seems to make sense on paper. After the update, when you tap on a day, it will enter what’s called the “Day view.” This view will only show you events for that specific day. You’ll see an hour-by-hour breakdown of the time as well.
Well, it seems that most people dislike this new change, and they’ve been vocal about it. This includes posts to the Google Support forum. Reports are flowing in, and people are asking Google to change it back.
Why this change could get annoying
What Google is doing makes sense, if you want to see the specific events for a day, then you’d tap on a specific day. However, it seems that people want to see more information on the screen at a time.
It’s more convenient to see what events for more than one day at a time, and people like to have a quick way to this view. Say, you want to check your events for the weekend, it’d be convenient to just tap on Friday to get an overview of your weekend plans. Users have become accustomed to the way things used to be, so this change only succeeded in upsetting the user base. Hopefully, Google will revert this change.
