When asked about the increase in the number of schools with less than 10 per cent results in the state, at a media interaction following the announcement of Class 12 Boards results, Education Minister Kuber Dindor appeared to “laud” the trend, saying it was an indicator of hard work of students and efforts by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB). However, when it was pointed out that it was a negative trend, Dindor told The Indian Express, “I got confused between 10 and 100 per cent result schools. As the number of schools in Science stream with 100 per cent results increased from 127 to 194 and the number of schools with less than 10 per cent results also increased from 27 to 34 (compared to last year); I mixed the two up.” With a slight improvement in overall results in both Science and General stream in Class XII, the Minister, who is also a teacher, congratulated the students and appreciated the hard work put in by the teachers.
