Dismissed CRPF constable Munir Ahmed who was terminated from service for marrying a Pakistani national, on Sunday appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to relook into his case and provide him justice.
Munir said he married his cousin Menal Khan, a Pakistani national, after completing all the formalities required.
Talking to media in Jammu, Munir dismissed charges in his termination letter as “false and misleading”, saying that his family has been residing in Jammu’s Handwal village for many generations and they did not leave the area even during the Partition.
Denying reports that they met online as “false and fabricated’’, Munir pointed out that his marriage with Menal was decided by their families. Munir said that he informed his superiors in the CRPF about his intent to marry his Pakistani cousin in 2022 and sought permission for the same. After the nod from the CRPF headquarters, both the families decided to go ahead with the marriage online without waiting for visa as the condition of his father, a cancer patient, deteriorated, he said.
