In the wake of the recent deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the Centre has revamped the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB), sources said.
Accordingly, the Centre appointed former R&AW Chief Alok Joshi as the new Chairman of NSAB.
Besides, former Western Air Commander, Air Marshal PM Sinha, along with former Southern Army Commander, Lt General A.K. Singh and retired Rear Admiral Monty Khanna, have been made members of the board.
Furthermore, Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh both retired from the Indian Police Service are now members of the NSAB.
In addition, B. Venkatesh Varma, a retired IFS, is now a part of the seven-member board.
The advisory body draws its members from an eminent group of national security experts. NSAB provides inputs to the National Security Advisor (NSA).
