Kuldeep Yadav slaps Rinku Singh ‘twice’ after IPL clash; KKR responds with ‘Gehri Dosti’ video amid social media outrage | Trending News

After a tense finish to the match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, a moment off the field, showing a bizarre exchange between Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh, stole the spotlight.

In the viral video, the two players, along with a few others, were seen laughing and chatting after the match. Out of the blue, Yadav appeared to slap Singh, not once but twice. While it seemed to be in jest, Singh’s reaction told a different story. The first slap caught him off guard, and after the second one, he seemed annoyed, and exchanged a few words with his teammate from the Indian squad. The clip sparked outrage on social media, with many questioning Yadav’s behaviour despite the seemingly friendly context.

To cool things down, KKR jumped in with a clever social media post. On X, they shared the video with the caption, “Media (sansani) vs (doston ke beech ka) Reality! Gehri dosti feat. our talented UP boys.” The video opens showing the media frenzy with screenshots of sensational headlines, and then cuts to a heartwarming footage of Yadav and Singh, arm-in-arm, making finger hearts, and sharing laughs. A nostalgic montage followed, featuring their journey together from KKR days to Indian team memories, all set to the classic “Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Todenge” from Sholay.

Despite KKR’s attempt to clear the air and show it was all in good fun, not everyone was convinced. Some fans insisted Yadav owed Singh an apology, saying the act was inappropriate, regardless of intent.

As for the game itself, Kolkata got off to a flying start and put up a competitive 204/9, with their top order doing most of the damage and Rinku Singh (36) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44) capitalising on a good start. Delhi’s chase faltered early, but a solid 76-run stand between Faf du Plessis (62) and Axar Patel (43) kept hopes alive. However, Sunil Narine’s timely strikes (3/29) broke the momentum, and DC ultimately fell short, ending their innings at 190/9.
