Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins lavished praise on young talent Aniket Verma, with the 23-year-old being one of the standout finds of the IPL 2025 season for the franchise, despite what has been a disappointing campaign overall.
“He really impressed us in the warm-up matches and in the training. I think just the way he goes out, no matter the game situation and tries and hit sixes. And that`s what he`s done. He takes on spin, and it`s just that freedom that he`s brought to his game. He`s only played a few games as of now, but he`s been really impressive. He`s striking beautifully,” Pat Cummins said on JioHotstar`s special series.
Verma has made the most of his opportunities, delivering both consistency and flair, qualities that align perfectly with the aggressive brand of cricket SRH is known for.

Although Sunrisers have struggled to convert performances into wins this season, Aniket’s emergence has been a silver lining. His impactful displays have provided much-needed stability and glimpses of brilliance, offering hope for the franchise’s future. Verma could well become a vital contributor in the coming seasons.
SRH acquired the services of Verma last year for Rs 30 lakh. However, he did not feature in any matches during that season. Despite his limited exposure, signs of Aniket`s success were always evident, considering the carnage he inflicted on the field during the Madhya Pradesh League.
SRH will now take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their upcoming IPL 2025 match. The `Orange Army` has so far played eight matches, out of which they managed to clinch victory in just two games and have suffered defeats in six games.
On the other hand, CSK are facing a similar situation and is placed at the bottom of the table. Ahead of the game, they will expect the young duo, Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre, to deliver performances.
As soon as MS Dhoni enters the SRH clash, he will become the fourth Indian to complete 400 T20 matches. The top three Indians to complete 400 appearances in the shortest format of the game are Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma.
