Mahesh Babu Summoned in Developers Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to Mahesh Babu in connection with the Sai Surya Developers and Surana Group case. He is required to appear for questioning on April 27th concerning Rs 5.9 crore he allegedly received from Sai Surya Developers, comprising Rs 3.5 crore in cash and Rs 2.5 crore through RTGS. The amount of money was received by the Guntur Kaaram actor in return for promoting the group.

The ED has occasionally summoned celebrities, including actors, in connection with their endorsements of brands or products linked to financial irregularities or alleged money laundering cases. In November 2022, Vijay Deverakonda was questioned about potential violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) related to Liger’s finances, particularly regarding foreign funding and payments. Last year, Tamannaah Bhatia was summoned by the ED in a money laundering investigation involving a mobile app named ‘HPZ Token’. In 2023, SRK’s wife Gauri Khan was slapped with a notice in connection with a real estate firm that has allegedly embezzled Rs 30 Cr.

Mahesh Babu was recently in Italy for a family vacation. He awaits the next schedule of his movie directed by SS Rajamouli. The untitled movie was shot in Hyderabad and Odisha over the past few months.
