If there is one strong aspect MP Supriya Sule has taken from her father and NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar, it is her ability to override differences and communicate with leaders across party lines. Not surprisingly, among the first politicians who called up Thackeray cousins after their willingness to work together, was Sule. The reunion of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray even if it is in the air so far has been termed as “golden moment” by Sule. An NCP (SP) leader who heard the comment quipped, “Union is always better than break up. So, hopefully we also await winds of change that bring Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar together politically for larger good of Maharashtra.”
Angry over handset
Government recently spent over Rs 1 crore on purchase of new telephone handsets for ministers and their offices. A minister was, however, furious over a faulty new telephone handset installed in his cabin. As a group of journalists were seated in his cabin, he was continuously receiving calls on his landline. While he picked to respond he could not hear the other side. As it went on for almost six times, the minister called his staff and asked whether the cheque given to the vendor had bounced that made him deliver faulty handsets. An embarrassed staff had no option but to apologise to the minister.
For a good posting
With Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis set to assess police units over their 100-day performance, police unit commanders have gone in for a complete overhaul of their infrastructure to impress the CM. With IPS transfers around the corner, many believe that a fine impression here may be equal to a good posting in the forthcoming transfers
