Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Friday chaired the National Tiger Conservation Authority’s 27th meeting at the Indian Institute of Forest Management in Bhopal. Since 2022, NTCA, which is mandated to oversee Project Tiger, has held four on-site meetings in different parts of the country — Pakke (Arunachal Pradesh), Chandrapur (Maharashtra), Bandipur (Karnataka), and Dehradun (Uttarakhand). The 20th meeting in Pakke Tiger Reserve in April 2022 was the first-ever NTCA meeting outside Delhi. Besides Central and State representatives, the authority has on board tribal and environmental experts, two MPs from Lok Sabha members and one from Rajya Sabha, among others.
On The List
A list of 115 Delhi Police personnel who got out-of-turn promotions was released earlier this week, nearly four months after its scheduled time. Insiders say the delay in finalising the list was mainly because a Sub-Inspector who has been working in the house of a senior police officer as a protocol officer for two years needed to be accommodated. According to sources, he was elevated for his role in chasing and apprehending an outlaw. Usually, the out-of-turn promotion list is issued by the Police Commissioner in the last week of December.
