Even as Gujarat BJP is in process of overhauling its state organisation under Sangathan Parv with the selection of new district and mandal heads, appointment to the post of Ahmedabad city president is keenly awaited. It is among the few posts which are yet to be announced by the party. Sources said that a number of party leaders have staked claim to the important organisational post, including some sitting MLAs from the Ahmedabad city. However, they added, the party authorities have conveyed to those MLAs that it has been decided that no sitting MLA will be appointed to the post. “With this (development), now it remains to be seen who will be appointed to the post,” a party official said.
CM visits his sister
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday visited his sister in Ahmedabad’s Shalby Hospital. His sister was recently operated for a knee replacement surgery by Dr Vikram Shah. The CM’s visit came during his sister’s recuperation in post-operative care. The hospital expressed its deep gratitude placed by the family of the chief minister “for the trust his family has placed in Shalby” while wishing “her a speedy and smooth recovery”.
