Saif Ali Khan attack: Accused’s fingerprint matched with print on doors of Bandra building’s 8th floor | Mumbai News

The fingerprints of Mohammed Shariful Islam Fakir, the Bangladeshi national arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra house in January, matched the fingerprint collected from the eighth floor of the building, Satguru Sharan, where he resided.

According to the 1,612-page chargesheet recently filed by the Bandra police, Fakir revealed to the police that he climbed the first floor of the building using the fire duct. From the first to the eleventh floor, he allegedly took a staircase and tried opening doors on both sides to commit theft.

On January 26, when the team collecting fingerprints was again sent to Satguru Sharan, they managed to find a ‘chance print’ on the north side door of the 8th-floor staircase, the chargesheet says. When this print was sent to the CID’s fingerprint bureau along with Fakir’s fingerprints, they allegedly found a ‘match’ between the collected sample print and the print of Fakir’s left palm. Out of the three samples, one matched, as per the chargesheet.

This is the forensic evidence cited by the police against Fakir to establish his presence in Satguru Sharan.
