Citizens can now visit Pune’s heritage sites in the comfort of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited’s (PMPML) new air-conditioned ‘Pune darshan’ buses. This initiative offers an affordable way to visit seventeen cultural sites in Pune for Rs 500.
The city tour will cover landmarks such as Kesariwada, Shaniwarwada and Lal Mahal, among others. The air-conditioned buses will ensure that travellers enjoy the journey comfortably, regardless of weather conditions.
Tourists can board the Pune darshan bus from two locations–Moledina bus station in Pune railway station at 8.45 am or Deccan Gymkhana bus stop at 9 am. Tickets can be purchased directly at either of these locations.
The devotional sites include Mahalaxmi Temple (from outside), Chaturshringi Mata Temple, Sarasbaug Ganpati Temple, Shinde Chhatri and Dagdusheth Ganapati Temple (from outside). Other sites include P L Deshpande Garden, Raja Dinkar Museum, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum, Shivajinagar Aviation Gallery, Mahatma Phule Wada, Aga Khan Palace, National War Memorial in Ghorpadi, Tribal Cultural Museum and Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park.
Additionally, PMPML will provide a guide to share historical information about each location. “While we strive to cover all the mentioned sites, sometimes adjustments may be made due to time constraints or traffic conditions. We request visitors’ understanding and cooperation in such situations. PMPML encourages citizens to take advantage of the Pune darshan bus service to explore the city’s cultural richness,” said the chief transport manager (operations) of PMPML in a statement.
