Mephentermine Injection

Hyderabad, July 14 – In a significant crackdown on illegal drug distribution, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South East Zone, in coordination with Chatrinaka Police, apprehended two individuals in possession of 423 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections. The total value of the seized narcotics and property is estimated at ₹5,00,000/-.

Acting on a credible tip-off, police launched a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of:

Mohammed Zuber alias Zubair, age 30, a model by profession, residing at Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Falaknuma, Hyderabad
Veludandi Vinay Kumar, age 43, a medical distributor from RTC Colony, Chengicherla, Ranga Reddy District

The seized property includes:

423 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate Injections
2 two-wheelers
2 mobile phones
Cash amounting to ₹9,430/-

According to officials, the duo was involved in the unauthorized procurement and sale of the banned injections without valid licenses or prescriptions. Their primary targets were unsuspecting youth, gym-goers, and bodybuilders who were misled by false claims of physical enhancement.

Further investigation revealed that Zuber was also a user of the drug and obtained the injections from Vinay Kumar, who sourced them from a supplier in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities suspect a wider network may be involved, and additional arrests are expected.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and have been remanded to judicial custody. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious sale or usage of such restricted medical substances.
