35-year-old murdered on footpath near Churchgate station

A 35-year-old man was murdered after an unidentified assailant struck him on the head with a stone near Churchgate station in south Mumbai, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place around 11.45 pm on Friday on the footpath of Nashikrao Tirpude Marg, reported news agency PTI. An eyewitness told Mumbai Police that the attacker had a scuffle with the victim before he picked up a stone and hit him on the head, resulting in immediate death.

Police arrived at the scene and took the body to JJ Hospital for autopsy. CCTV footage from the area is being examined.

36-year-old killed, three family members injured in mob attack in Raigad

A 36-year-old man was killed and three relatives injured in a mob attack in Raigad district, allegedly over an old feud, police said on Saturday.

The attack occurred on Thursday night in Awas village, Mandwa. The victim, Dharmendra Rane, was attacked by six people while parking his car, reported PTI. The accused — Vaibhav Mhatre, Devendra Mhatre, Ankit Rane, Shubham Patil, Poonam Mhatre, and Siya — allegedly used sharp weapons in the assault.

The violence stemmed from a financial dispute between Rane’s family and the Mhatres. When Rane’s mother Karuna and brothers Vishwas and Vivek tried to intervene, they were also assaulted.

All the six accused have been arrested. Further investigation is ongoing.

Minor stabbed to death in Delhi’s Burari; two juveniles held

A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in broad daylight in Delhi’s Burari area, police said on Saturday.

Two juveniles were arrested near Dhaula Kuan on Thursday, and a dagger used in the attack was recovered from them.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Aditya Gautam said, “During interrogation, one of the juveniles revealed that the victim, who lived in the same locality, had previously threatened to kill him. This led both minors to stab the boy.”

The attack occurred around 2.30 pm, when the victim was stabbed multiple times following a personal dispute. He died in hospital during treatment. A case was registered at Burari Police Station.

Police intercepted the juveniles near Dhaula Kuan based on intelligence. Both confessed to the murder during questioning.

One juvenile had previous stabbing cases registered at Bhalswa Dairy Police Station in 2024 and 2025, while the other has a dacoity case against him.

The minors went into hiding after the crime but were nabbed while meeting their associates. Further investigation is ongoing.
