
A hundred and forty-five persons have died in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh so far during the monsoon this year, ANI reported on Friday.
The deaths took place in incidents such as flash floods, landslides, drownings and structures getting damaged, the news agency quoted the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority as saying.
Kangra recorded 29 deaths in rain-related incidents, the highest among all districts. There were 26 deaths in Mandi district, ANI reported.
The disaster management authority also said that 135 persons died in road accidents during the monsoon season so far, the news agency reported.
The heavy rainfall led to more than 360 roads getting blocked, electricity being cut off in more than 900 areas and water supply links being disrupted in 139 places, the authority further said.
Kullu and Mandi districts were the worst affected in terms of disruption of infrastructure.
