Tragedy Strikes as 18-Year-Old Shot Dead in Drunken Brawl in Thane

In a shocking incident that unfolded on Monday night, an 18-year-old boy named Rajan Yerkar lost his life after being shot by one of his friends during a drunken brawl in the Surya Nagar area of Kalyan, Thane. Yerkar, accompanied by four friends, was consuming alcohol when a heated argument escalated into a violent altercation. The situation took a grim turn when one of the accused individuals produced a country-made revolver and fired a fatal shot at Yerkar from point-blank range, as confirmed by officials at the scene.

Law enforcement swiftly took action, registering a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), as well as relevant provisions of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.

The accused individuals, identified as Rohit Bhalekar, Parvez Sheikh, Sunil Waghmare, and Sameer Chouhan, are currently at large, prompting an intensified effort by authorities to apprehend them. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward and assist in the investigation.
