Queen Victoria Honors Nirmal Town’s Fitness Enthusiasts for Completing 50-Day Running Challenge

In a celebration of fitness and endurance, Queen Victoria, the trailblazing swimmer who secured India’s first gold medal in the sport, graced Nirmal town as the chief guest of an event organized to honor 21 individuals who successfully completed a 50-day running challenge despite challenging weather conditions.

The event, held on Friday, saw Queen Victoria alongside Hyderabad-based cyclist Phaniraju, who was the guest of honor. The town’s fitness enthusiasts, ranging in age from 20 to 50, were awarded medals for their dedication and accomplishment in completing the grueling challenge.

Addressing the gathering, Queen Victoria expressed her admiration for the Nirmal Cycling Club members who organized the unique event, emphasizing the importance of regular physical activity for maintaining good health. She commended the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to continue their fitness journey.

Rakesh Reddy, the president of the Nirmal Cycling Club, provided insights into the running challenge, which commenced on December 1 and concluded on January 19. Participants covered distances ranging from 3 to 20 kilometers daily, showcasing their determination and resilience in the face of adverse weather conditions.

Reddy congratulated the participants, highlighting the significance of their achievement and urging others to draw inspiration from their dedication. He also announced future plans for organizing full marathons, half marathons, and cycling events of varying distances, thanking those who supported the successful execution of the 50-day running challenge.

The club members, including Dr. BL Narasimha Reddy, Dr. Raghunandhan Reddy, Dr. Ramachandra Reddy, Dr. Krishna Swamy, Dr. Kaveti Srikanth, Shriram Raju, Kasam Raju, and Sharath Reddy, were acknowledged for their contributions to the event’s success. Reddy concluded by expressing gratitude and announcing the club’s intention to host similar events in the future, promoting a culture of health and fitness in Nirmal town.
