In a shocking incident, Mumbai Police apprehended a 24-year-old man, Shoeb Sheikh, for allegedly murdering his 35-year-old girlfriend, Amy alias Amit Ravindra Kaur, in a hotel room in Navi Mumbai. The police acted swiftly based on a tip-off, preventing the accused from fleeing to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh.

According to official sources, the police received information that Sheikh had committed an offense and was planning to escape. Acting on the tip-off, a team from the Mumbai Police raided Sheikh’s residence in the western suburb of Saki Naka in the early hours of the day.

During the subsequent interrogation, Sheikh confessed to the heinous crime. He disclosed that he and his girlfriend had checked into a hotel in Navi Mumbai on Monday. Sheikh, driven by suspicions of Kaur’s alleged involvement with another man, reportedly strangled her to death in a fit of rage.

The Mumbai Police, acting on this revelation, promptly informed their counterparts in the Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai. A team from Turbhe rushed to the hotel mentioned by Sheikh, where they discovered the lifeless body of Amy inside a room.

The victim, identified as Amy alias Amit Ravindra Kaur, held the position of a manager at the IDFC Bank’s Navi Mumbai branch. She was a resident of Sion Koliwada in Mumbai.

The crime came to light as the Mumbai Police received intelligence about Sheikh’s involvement in illegal activities. Subsequent investigations revealed the grim details of the murder, leading to Sheikh’s arrest under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 302 (Punishment for murder).

The motive behind the murder, driven by suspicion and rage, highlights the tragic consequences of unchecked emotions. The Mumbai Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case, and the accused will face legal proceedings for the alleged murder of Amy Kaur.
