FIR filed against Lucknow University assistant prof over ‘objectionable’ post | Lucknow News

An FIR has been registered against an assistant professor in the Linguistics Department of Lucknow University for allegedly making objectionable remarks on social media about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists.

The complaint against Madri Kakoti was filed by ABVP leader Jatin Shukla, also known as Manmohan Shukla, in Lucknow.

According to the police, the complainant has alleged that she has been consistently targeting India’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty through posts on her X handle that threaten the country’s peace and order. It has also been alleged that her posts appear intended to incite riots in India. Dr. Kakoti frequently uses terms such as “Saffron Terrorists” on her platforms, the complaint states. Furthermore, some of her posts have reportedly been shared by Pakistani media channels.

Station House Officer, Hasanganj police station, Amar Singh confirmed that Dr Madri Kakoti has been booked on sedition and other charges.
