BJP, AIADMK join hands in Tamil Nadu for 2026 polls; ESP to lead alliance

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have decided to face next year’s elections in Tamil Nadu together, Union Home minister Amit Shah announced on Friday, April 11.

Addressing questions over a delay in announcing the alliance, the BJP leader said, “It was delayed because now this alliance is going to be permanent. It will not have any issues again… The BJP respects and takes pride in Tamil language, culture and people…”
